The Winnetka Club’s Book Group

Since 1993, The Winnetka Club’s Book Group has been reading, learning and sharing perspectives on books from around the world and in every category of literature. In the past two decades, the Group has read over 200 books!

Our selections cover a wide range: fiction, non-fiction, mystery, biography (and autobiography), as well as the classics of literature. Our Book Group chair and members select the books and discussions are informal and interactive – with an opportunity for everyone to share thoughts on varied and fascinating topics.

Occasionally we take an excursion to “points of interest” related to a selected book. For example, we toured Millennium Park, Hull House and the Union League Club (viewing original drawings of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair) while reading The Devil in the White City by Eric Larson.

We meet eleven months of the year, taking a break during vacation time in August.  Currently, we have about fifteen members. We usually meet the last Tuesday of the month at 10:30 am.

Come join us for the conversation and intellectual inspiration that comes from books – contemporary and classic.
